I would hate to think that the term Snookered originated when H. J. Snook duped investors into funding his 1913 flying Winnebago.
His patent issued Aug. 12, 1913 originally titled "Flying Machine" describes his device as, "a flying machine, comprising, a body member, motive power mounted therein, a pair of helically formed propellers "revolubly" supported above said body, shafts to said propellers and projecting into said body, ball and socket bearings supporting said propellers..."
Had H. J. been born 50 years later the U.S. Army would have gladly purchased hundreds of his "Flying Machines." Being an inventor means that your vision may be decades ahead of your time but you need to make sure it works today to get paid.
